Well today a event occurred that made me wonder, how would the Jeep hold up in a wreck with a guard rail at 70-80MPH ? Would I walk away or would I be seriously fubar ?
head on or side swipe?... if you could keep it straight after sideswiping it i think you'd be fine...head on or if you lost it...you might be in trouble...but at 80 most SUV's are in trouble no?
Here is how my afternoon went, I did walk away and my neck and shoulders only have minor soreness. I actually hurt more 3 weeks ago when I spread 9 Yards of compost. The Damage The Collision The Cause FUCKING POS BFGs, I dont know how fast I was going but the right side front blew, I must have over corrected and the rest is history. The truck was just picked up last Friday with 9 miles on the clock, today I think it might have turned 3000 miles before its death. Im pretty sure its totalled, every crossmember is twisted from the main engine beam back to gas tank. The tranfer case cracked, transmission housing cracked and front pumpkin points down. I guess Im lucky to drive the Jeep another day :headspin:
HOLY CRAP DUDE!...glad that your for the most part ok.... same exact thing happened to my dad in November....front driverside blow out in his ML500 Benz SUV and while the car was smashed up pretty good...he was for the most part ok.... sorry to see you lose such a nice truck so soon....but thats what insurance is for right?.... hopefully you'll be back up and running with a new truck soon!...this time with goodyears or some other tire on it lol
Damn. Cetainly GLAD that you are ok... Where the heck do you live? Looks like I-40 going through West or East New Mexico.
Last I talked to John he was in Minnesota that sure does not look like Minnesota. John april fools was yesterday are you really okay
Wow, glad that turned out ok. LOL, that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the second pic. "Dang! a perfect 1/4 mile, broad daylight and not a car in sight!"
....I smell a rightfully deserved lawsuit award.... glad you are not hurt. At least have Ford, get you a brand spanking new one fully loaded to the gills. Good Luck!
No April Fools, that is in Montana between Helena and Great Falls along IH15. I woke up this morning and Im a little uncomfortable but cant say Im in pain.
OOOPS sorry Montana that would make more sense giving the scenery. You might still need to have yourself checked out and I guess your in a rental now at least the Jeep is back in Texas safe and sound.
Not an SRT8 but still a Grand Cherokee......http://www.safercar.gov/portal/site/safercar/menuitem.db847bd57e3dc1f885dfc38c35a67789/?vgnextoid=c95df2905bf54110VgnVCM1000002fd17898RCRD&model=Grand+Cherokee
Another web site that compares various impact ratings: http://www.informedforlife.org/viewartcl.php?index=24 What I gathered, it categorizes the Jeep GC as "medium risk"
