SOUTHERN HOTROD JEEP Grand Cherokee SRT-8 2WD dyno instructions: STEP 1: Turn ESP completely OFF with Diablosport Predator or equivalent. STEP 2: REMOVE transfer case motor (Unplugging the transfer case motor WILL NOT completely disengage the TC clutches) Alternate method would be "STEP 1" and remove the front drive shaft.
Gonna try this on our new Dyno and see how it works. Seems like an easier idea than puling the driveshaft. Is there any difference to pulling the fuse vs disabling ESP with a Predator?
I've had my Jeep on the Dyno with the ABS Pump fuse pulled on an AWD Dynojet and I still had problems as guys who have put there Jeep in Dyno Mode. I think pulling the Transfer case is the best thing for us on a 2WD Dyno.
That's a fallacy that keeps on propagating itself. The turn ESP off function does not do a thing on the Jeep. It was never programmed from the factory that way. LX cars yes, Jeep no.
What are you talking about? If you are on a 2 wheel Dyno you must put the Jeep in Dyno mode. If not it will see rear wheel speed and 0 front wheel speed. Then traction control will try slow down the rear wheels. We have revised our method. We just pull the front driveshaft and put the vehicle in Dyno mode.
Well first off Diablo mislabeled "ESP Off" it is just a copy of StMo "Emissions Roll Mode" it sends a command to the FCM module only, not to the ABS/FDCM in the Jeep. So the transfercase is not disengaged and disregards this message and still tries to engage via FDCM. Exactly...... if the blue box worked well you wouldn't have to "pull", "unbolt", or "disconnect" anything.
