i'm facing problem with my Dodge SRT 4 2005, when i try to unlock them using the switch on the driver side door they unlock, then immediately lock again. i got badly frustrated with this problem and i dnt know how much it will going to cost for the repair. so plz anyone suggest me a cheaper way to repair it.
Honestly, it is going to be hard to diagnose that over the internet. I assume the doors unlock fine with the remote, and/or using the passenger door switch? If so, then you know your problem won't be mechanical, so I'm going to guess maybe your switch is bad. That should not be hard, or expensive to change if you are going to do it yourself. EDIT: (my reasoning) You said "they unlock, then immediately lock again" which leads me to believe the problem is not just with the one door. Also points me to the problem being electrical and not mechanical. Therefor, if it works with the remote and/or passenger switch, that would point to your driver door switch being at fault.
door lock unlock problem There can be several reasons as to why a car door lock has malfunctioned. If you use a key fob to unlock car doors, first thing you need to do is check its batteries. Dead Batteries in the key fob are sometimes the reason behind a lock not working. You always have the option to call in a well qualified emergency locksmith.
If your car keys have been accidental locked inside your vehicle than a licensed locksmith will be able to help you enter the vehicle via picking the lock, which is a skill that only a trained locksmith can do. An auto car locksmith should be able to gain entry to any make or car/vehicle.
Getting the whole locking system changed is definitely going to be costly. You can call in an auto locksmith who can better assess your vehicle's locking mechanism and repair/replace it thereafter.
