Re-Post: Update: Wednesday, February 24, 2010 Thank you everyone for your patience!!! We had to delay the 17th update a few days to sort out some details but without further ado....here's the latest news!!! We are pleased to announce that the LX & BEYOND NATIONALS has joined the East Coast Modern Street Hemi Shootout Series for the 2010 Racing Season. The point series has been organized by Builder Bill, FlyByU and lou1355. We think this is a great idea and honored to have the invitation extended to us to be a part of it. This means all GEN III 5.7 and/or 6.1 based HEMI vehicles will be eligible to compete in the heads-up points series which began in Bradenton, FL earlier this month and will conclude at Atco Raceway in November. We look forward to seeing ALL competitors from across the country that want to have a weekend of fun lining up head-to-head with some of the leading GEN III HEMI vehicles in the country. Even if you are not racing, come out to support and cheer on your favorite forum member, modern Mopar or performance shop. Thank you again to Lou, Bill and Dan for taking the initiative on organizing the points series. Keep an eye out on post #1-6 for updates on rules and regulations for the points series. Anybody that does not want to race heads-up and enjoys bracket racing competition you will not be left out of the action. In addition, to the heads-up racing we will continue to host the bracket racing classes for you. I know there are some folks out there looking forward to defending their 2009 titles and we are looking forward to seeing you as well. caravans...caravans...caravans 2010 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS - THE CARAVANS Good way to find out who else in your area or state is thinking about the event is to get those caravan threads started. Its never too early to start planning even if you don't have the specific route and time yet. One person would not have to be in charge of the entire caravan (unless they want to) just the section that starts at their location. Really good idea too for sponsors that have shops in the cities that caravans pass thru. (hint! hint!) Everybody knows those areas/states that always represent BIG but maybe there are some new folks on the board (or lurkers) that have never attended or don't know folks in their area that well. Maybe a caravan is coming through your area or you find out you are not the only one in your town wanting to go. Confusion and Clarification of 2010 LX & Beyond Nationals Entry Fees There appears to be some new folks attending the LX & BEYOND NATIONALS this year that have not attended in the past and some confusion on the cost of attending the event. I also have received messages and emails from individuals which may be fueling the confusion for others. Last year the LX & Beyond Nationals had only 2 entry options for participating in the event and nothing has changed for 2010. Those two entries are: Car Show Entry and Drag Racing Entry. Due to the confusion caused by naming one “Car Show†entry, effective immediately we will be updating the name to “Regular Entry†to clarify it for everyone. If you wish to park with the group, the vendors and the event then you will be required to pay the Regular Entry or the Race Entry Fee. If you would rather park in the parking lot with Regular Joe and Jen Admission then you have the option to pay the $10 spectator fees instead. (Spectators are not eligible for prizes, raffle items or awards) This is the agreement that we have with QUAKER CITY RACEWAY and they will be enforcing it as such at the gate. Don't forget that if you pay the Race Fee you are eligible to participate in both Race and Show events. I am aware there was some confusion at the gate last year, mostly due to the fact it was their first time hosting our event versus they regular events and that will not happen this year. If you arrive in an “LX & Beyond†vehicle you will be asked for the appropriate fee. For those of you that do want to participate in the Car Show portion of the event the judging classes have been adjusted for 2010 and will be posted soon and because of the overwhelmingly positive response from everyone THE F4 CHALLENGE TEAM will be returning as the official judges. Each section where your cars will be parked have been divided into "zones" and will be judged at designated times so it will allow you to mingle throughout the event and come back when you know its judging time for your zone which should alleviate the need to stand by your car all day or miss the opportunity to talk to vendors or see some racing. Only a few more to go and there will be more Canadians than Ohioans.....what?!? ....what's up Ohio? You should easily be the largest group in attendance. ....looks like Indiana is making a run to overtake Ohio too with 6 .....so far Michigan and New York are battling for 4th place at 5 each ....where is Illinois, Pennsylvania and Kentucky? Only 1 each so far. ....happy to see our die-hard attendees from California, Arizona, Kansas and West Virginia Its no surprise but Brilliant Black appears to be the #1 favorite among attendees. ....Inferno Red is making a respectable showing with 8 so far ....Bright Silver is not far behind with 6 ....the high-impact colors (Hemi Orange, Plum Crazy, Sublime, Torred) are all battling for recognition in the middle of the pack, its too early to tell who will break away The suprising statistics of the day: ....Chargers leading the way with 22 ....Magnums are currently in 2nd place with 17, over the Challenger with only 11 ....300/300C is at the back of the pack with only 3 and behind the Grand Cherokee with 5 We are trying to get a head-count for additional items/happenings at the event this year. Everyone thinks you have to pay to register which is not true. Select "CHECK" and it advises that you can mail a check in or pay at the gate. We will plan based on what the registration shows, if folks don't register on the website I'm gonna say I told ya so.
