This thread is now a sticky....thanks Kevin for all you do to help us mod-addicts get the right "fix"......
I was wondering if anyone had the drag coeficiency numbers for a 04 r/c ?I am setting up my g-meter and need some input numbers. I also need the weight of our trucks.
So in plain english...a 2 1/2 ton brick? hehe. Thanks for the numbers. I should be able to get a good estimate of times now.
In plain English: There are 32 sq. ft. of surface area on the Ram SRT-10. That's the same as a 4'x8' sheet of plywood.
Some. June and July are my most-traveled months of the year, so I've been a little too busy to rig and run tests. I'll get the others up by the end of the month.
I have a question Kevin....when the kids put one of the back windows down in the QC, it frick'n hurts my ears. Now even though you are two widows shy of testing this in your truck....what is the cause ?
1. Window Lock This happens on a lot of vehicles, and I really notices it in Rachel's Jag. I DO NOT HAVE A DEGREE IN C.F.D., BUT...... From what I can gather, it's a combination of aerodynamics and cabin pressure. As minimal as the pressure is in the cabin, it can change slightly. It's probably enough to make it annoying on your ears and the components inside your ears. The aerodynamics help fluctuate the pressure, making the problem even worse. Some have said that those 'window lips' help, but I had those on my Durango and all they did was keep the rain out when the window was down slightly. I think that if your aero sucks before, it's going to suck after...no matter what you add to the truck. Try some tests with the front and rear windows at different levels. That won't cure the problems, but it might help you find a spot where sanity can be restored.
