Time to get started here. I have a 2009 SRT8 6 speed manual trans coming by Thanksgiving (I hope). I intend to do a 8.8:1 forged 426 build with SMS 296 s/c; kooks longtubes with thermal coating, corsa exhaust, BT dress-up goodies, 8K hids, HRE 590R wheels with 255/35zr20 nitto invo's front and 295/35ZR20 rears. Ported and polished heads with thermal coating, cam, Drive Shaft Shop level 5 axles and upgraded driveshaft. Also hotchkis sway bars and springs and simpson 5 point harness'. I have a room full of parts just waiting on my car. Will post pictures before and after once this project gets going. Want to do 500 mile break-in stock and am still waiting for Diablo Predator support of the 09 6 speed. Then the fun begins!

Well damn, looks like you have a GREAT project in store.

    Who will build your motor?

Are you sure the current 1/2 Shafts are the same for the 6 speed cars? Seems to me the rearend would be a tad different????

Please start a new thread once the build begins. We all love the car porn. haha

8.8 CR might not be the best choice for a street car. My motor was built for a TS SC, and is 10.3 CR. I would think that 9.5 would be about the lowest CR to run. If you ever decide to pull the SC, your car will be a real turd with 8.8 CR.

I'm not looking to run big boost on the street. Will only be running 10 to 12 lbs of boost at the track.

Have fun and keep us updated.

Thanks for some good input everyone. For my motor build I am undecided. I am considering HHP/BES who did Trojans engine for him. Still open on that. As for half-shafts and driveshaft I know the 09 has more spines 31 vs 27? and I don't yet have an answer there either. As for ambition before getting my car you are right. I have been ordering and paying for parts for about three months. I did this to spread out my cost but be ready to do the project in only a few steps. Having parts already to go that are paid for makes the engine build easier to pay. My favorite is some 6" Woody Woodpecker decals for the rear windows LOL. I appreciate any inputs that steer me in the right directions. I selected the Nitto's for my first go-around but will obviously be open for when replacements are necessary. Once again, I'm glad we have this thread started and please feel free to offer your opinions or advice. I'm not completely in the dark here but know less than i'd like and will have several decisions still to make. I look forward to this project!

I'm going to use BMC here in Florida and PPP for my build. As for compression ratio I'll let the experts advise me what's best for my use. Hope to get tuned by Diablo also here in Florida. I like the nitto tires and after the first set I'll decide if a change is warranted. Hope to have my car next week and do the 426 in January of February.

Thanks for the PM on the other forum, and we'll be talking all about this! Definitely going to be an exciting project and thanks for your confidence in what we and PPP can do together for you! Since we've had the Techco on order already, we're really looking forward to the full build with you!!

I contacted SMS about supercharging my 426 Jeep. It probably wont happen until January. That is ok since Mondello is currently "wet flowing" the Hemi heads and there will be some combustion chamber changes due to fuel puddling discovered.....the beauty of advanced head flow technology...:smart:

The compression will be lowered by the chamber changes allowing a head swap without pulling the engine and changing the pistons.

I also heard rumors about the Techco guys having some new ideas. Looking forward to seeing what they might offer. They certainly have a proven track record from their previous accomplishments.:dance4:
