He said "GC...". You could add that pesky transfer case to the list.

and he was asking if it was a common problem. Paging Wade, paging Wade. Pick up the orange phone please.

Here's a common "problem". Until you get a tune in it you don't get full throttle in 1st. If you go for different tire sizes you don't want to go more than 5% different diameter front to back or you'll likely go into limp mode. lol, those probably weren't the ones you were looking for... :D

What I want to know is what "common to the GCSRT" problems would cause the issues I mentioned in my first post.....I just want to be informed when I speak with the techs....

drivetrain cLUNKING could be lots of things.....

    how many miles on it?

but COMMON problems that COULD cause a clunk =

front diff mounts. there are 2-3 rubber bushings that mount dif to chassis./ these go bad on regular basis

    OR

transfer case; fluid is 50 bux a qt and you need 2. it needs to be done everry 15K miles. AND you need to keep your finger OFF the TC disable button or then it really makes some fun noises

REAR DIFF/DS ; some get CLUNK there.

IMO I would get it to a TRUSTED shop on the lift to go over.

This was the answer I was fishing for....They supposingly fixed the problem. I drove it again yesterday and trans was quiet and performed well.......but your statement about the TC disable makes me worry....When I drove it Wed I had pushed the TC button when I first started it. When I drove it again yesterday I did not push the TC button.....Will need to drive it again...Hmmm.........:hmm:

And why not push the TC button?....I guess I should research this..:nerd:

    BTW...2006 with 61K miles...excellent condition otherwise..

Where r u at? My buddy just traded his red 06 SRT8 last week or week before because of that very problem and the cost quoted to him to fix TC and everything else that was wrong with the front end at the dealership he chose to trade it in. Get it checked before u buy if ur in NC
