I made LOTS of phone calls to dealerships, mechanics, etc. and they all say it can't be done.

I want to change my rear end ratio to 3:55 or 3:73 (I want 3:73 but I think it's too high for our 1st gear).

They all say it can't be done because of the crush collar and sleeves and some sort of bearing, etc.

I remember on my Mustang, Cobra, Trucks, etc. that you buy gears, you go to install them and taaadaaaa!

Why can't it be done? They don't make the crush collar and bearings in different sizes? One guy suggested finding a 2009 300 in a junk yard and pulling the entire rear end assembly and swapping it out for mine (3:55 gears) but that's a little extreme no?

These are the shift points with a 3.06 rear and 6400 shifts.
    6400 49 80 125 176 212
These are the points with 3.73.
    6400 40 66 102 144 174

Go order a Getrag differential, axles and hubs. Go with the 3.73 and then use your Predator to change the ratio in the PCM.

So far I only found Allusa or something like that, $1300 for the unit :(

I was hoping that rear end and converter would be around 1300 total, including labor. I miss the Mustang days (rear end, meh about a deuce, converter around a buck and a half).

I know it'll be worth it. BUT THERE'S GOT TO BE A CHEAPER WAY OUT.

Man I hate being a tight ass.

Sorry, but nope, and if you found it for 1300, that's likely the unit only. You will need axles and hubs to go with it, plus install...total cost of around $2500.00. Then if you don't already have a predator, another $300.00 for it.
If you want to modify an LX, forget your past experience with Stangs...get a second job, or start selling your plasma.
