OK, it's a done deal. I know this event was short notice, well sort of. I posted back in July on LXforums about do an event 1/19/08. We've had some bumps and bail outs, but we never said it wasn't going to happen. The event has evolved into more that I was looking for, but it's happening. We had a meeting tonight with Chrysler, Firebird, yourclubs.net and SRTConnection at the Cafe Corral. Firebird received their check for the event tonight. We had a pretty good turnout of locals. They even sang Happy Birthday to me, and we had cake. The Fire Marshall said 60 candles would not meet code, so they used 1. LOL We now have magazine coverage now. Vendor support has been slow going, and we understand it's a bad time of the year. But we really need your support. I personally thank the few vendors helping with $$$ and with product and/or services. We may be opening up Autocross, we'll know next week. We know some where disapointed. We're working on it. No promises. I again want to thank the guys at yourclubs.net for working their asses off to pull this off with us. So I hope everyone gets off the fence now, and signs up. The more money we have to work with early, the better we can make the events. So we have 12 months to plan for next year. We want this to be the premier Modern Mopar racing event in 2009. Firebird is a world class venue, and has an NHRA national event here in February. So lets make 2008 the best event yet.
Hal, We are up for $500 to help. Been trying to find out who to send to. Email me at [email protected] with your paypal again Hal and I will transfer the funds to you Monday I know Dan and Scott are looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks opcorn:
Ok - I'm sincerely confused? Is he talking about 2008 or 2009? He's talking about the 2008 event on 1/19/08, and suggesting they now have a year to prepare for the same event in 2009?
Thank you so much Heidi. I believe Ron sent you a PM with the PayPal account info. We're going to have a 20X30 tent for our vendors.
Hal's update was written on 1/4. He simply dated it in the heading. The event is 1/19 this year. He wants to get a jump on preparing for next year as well. For any further HalVonese translations go to: http://babelfish.altavista.com/ :rofl2:
So far we have: B&G Performance Billet Techonlogies CMW Motorsports Come on guys, you can support this event in many different ways. Thanks.
Dave is still trying to see if he can actually be there. B&G is located in the greater Detroit, MI area. So at this point, I would say no.
na, a CMR tune could be done without Dyno, but it would be some serious datalogging and many runs down the track.
