I took the Crossfire to the track over the weekend (19-20 of septiember) and had a lot of fun. I got some decent video and gave a copy to the guy I ended up stuck behind for a while. Nice guy and fast car. Anyway, he edited it and put it on youtube in 2 parts. I would have edited it differently but he did it first. I seem to be the only one that followed the instructions about NOT passing unless waved by and NOT getting on the bumper of the car in front but it really was a great weekend with lots of cool people and cars. Hope you enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4jGz26XNRI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmm8EC70s7M&feature=related
I like how your car is so quiet but keeping up and driving smooth and he thinks its about his car. LOL! Awesome driving! What was up with the swervy action at the end of the first one?
That swervy stuff at the end of the first part? .. I was practicing car control. (not on purpose) Well, I have 1 tire putting down the power coming off the turns and he has 4 with 348 hp at the wheels. (his claimed numbers, and I believe him) I gave it a bit too much gas too soon. We got separated several times by slow cars and my "car control improvisation" but I always caught up quickly. I have another video of another senior car control (out of control) moment but I don't know if I want to advertise. (360º) Les
Pssh, no big deal. Its better to do that out on the course than in traffic. That's how I figured out that I have to power out of fishtailing rather than slamming the brakes. Great vid though, testament to your driving ability. Fast and smooth and controlled. :thumb3:
More car control issues. But thank for the fast, smooth and controlled. I mean, how do you know the limit until you cross it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLkRwCkqJk0
Ah, fun! I was riding along with a guy driving an 80s model Dakota when he went off the course at Willow Springs at turn 10. In retrospect pretty scary (turn 10 literally kills people), but it was funny at the time, the little hawaiian dancer and buddhas on the dash going bonkers and everything. Just gotta keep trying, the more you drive out there, the better you get.
Speaking sincerely for a moment, it was the last lap and I was late braking and seeing how much speed I could carry through the corners. I messed up the sweeper which I never do (too much speed in the corner) messed up after the barrels (too late braking) and messed up the esses which is why I had to swing wide in the first place. If the tire hadn't touched the grass it never would have happened. Thanks to the video I know why the car took me for a 360. Les
Yeah, probably combination of you and the car being worn out. LOL! I notice after a long day, my brakes get a little squishy, but then so are my reflexes by that point. But you learned something, so all good.
^ Are you serious? If that is a serious question, then I'd say sure anything is possible. (with the right amount of money) But that would take a whole lot of money!!! The SRT6 is RWD, Neons are not. So, by the time anyone got done with that kind of conversion, I would suspect that the donor Neon would not look so much like a Neon, as much as it would some kind of Frankenstein car...and it would require a hell of a lot more time and money than it would be worth to do it.
Hahahaha. Now my post doesn't make any sense. Oh well, I suppose that's not the first non-sese post I've made...probably won't be the last one either.
