Chris. The fan assy. you got is the one you posted for me, right? The one from go-part.com? Are you happy with it so far? Is it "upgraded" in any way?

Most likely. I'd bet money on it but I wouldn't bet the house.
The t-stat you have is either the wrong one or it's sticking. If it's opening at 190* then you shouldn't have gone over 195* or so in town so it pretty sure looks like the HS fan. You want another t-stat anyway.

O sure... I think we need a vid with audio on your fan impression.

Alright. Calling BMC right now for the Jet tstat. And I'll order the fan assy that Chris recommended. So it looks like along with my new CAI & 90mmTB, I'll be installing some other shit too......WONDERFUL!!!! Hey, anyone tell me how to get my front bumper off to do all this??????? :D

No need my brutha...Two 10mm socket head bolts at the top on either side, unhook the connectors (two of them( on the back side of the fan assembly, then work it out from the top...It's tight, and you will have to fanigle it a bit, but it will come out.

Not at all. You might want to wear your snuggie though 'cause it will take a while to warm up if it does at all. Might throw a temp code too if it doesn't get up to 170 or so for a few key cycles.

Without that high speed fan working it will warm up if you put just a little load on it at less than freeway speeds.

If the fans are coming on though......
Shouldn't they work at any speed??? Wouldn't this be a module or a relay?? Not the fans themselves??? Point being. If the fans WORK at low speed, wouldn't it be a "circuitry" issue as to why they're not coming on at high speed?? I mean if the fan motor works, it WORKS. Right???!!

Nope. Two different fans. A high speed and low speed. It could be a relay, but given the cheap and crappy reputation of our fans I'm betting on the fan itself.

very!!!! works like a champ and was a dead nut perfect fit!!

just ask ron what it sounds like......:bigwink:

no need to remove the fascia chase!!!

i actually find it a bit easier to drop it out of the car from the bottom!!! just put it high enough in the air to have room, but there is more space at the bottom to get it out and no chance to scratch any of the pretty painted stuff in his engine bay!!! :D

relay is a possibility. i have an early build 06 that had that extra relay actually mounted on the fan shroud. as i found out, it was this relay that went bad, not my low speed fan. my hi speed still worked, but the relay killed the low speed. chase, even if you have that same relay, i doubt that is the issue. like i said, my hi speed fans still worked when the relay crapped out. our high speed fans are crap and yours sounds like it bit the dust like soooooo many others have!!!

Cool. Will that relay come with the new fan assembly??? Or is that another part I'll have to order, if in fact, that's what's broken?

the relay, if you even have it, will be taken off the old fan assembly and installed on the new. most cars i have seen do not have this extra relay. but like i said, if your low speed fan was working, then the relay, again if you have it, will be fine. the relay controls the low speed fan motor.
