Finally tuned my truck....took 6 months but it was worth it...changed from the VEC to SCT during that time...Torrie with unleashed Tuning did the honors...Torre traveled from FL to my local dyno to give me a custom tune yesterday....He took his time and gave me more than my money's worth...he spent 6 hrs on the dyno with only a 15 minute lunch break....I didnt count the pulls but I am sure they would number 20+.. I found Torrie to be conservative with his tuning...he doesnt try to impress everyone with big numbers...his tune is a balance between power, drivability and keeping your motor together. I am very pleased with how the truck runs now. Saturday here in east TN was not a great day for making HP on a dyno...humidity was in the 90s and the temp in the 80s....that said I still ended up with great #s.....625HP and 618TQ... One more thing...I have never bashed on vendors but I will make just a short comment on one that is not a vendor here...and I will not accept him as a vendor here...KRC Performance.... I bought my SCT from Marty of KRC Performance...included was a tune by email on a dyno. I reserved a full day on the dyno and gave Marty a weeks notice...he said he would be available that day until my truck was tuned... After 4 pulls marty has an "emergency" and has to leave....I left my truck on the dyno and reserved the next day....called KRC at 8:30am the next morning...I was told Marty was on the phone and would call me right back....over an hour later I called again and could not get an answer...same for the next 4 calls that day....I ended up paying $600 for 2 days on the dyno and left with the same tune I drove in with....it has been 10 days I have not heard from Marty.. This is a complete opposite of Torre...he almost answers emails before I can type them....I highly recommend Torre for tuning whether you have a Viper, hemi, GM or Ford...yes...he does them all....
wow larry, that is sick for sure! sorry to hear about your troubles with krc. im glad it finally worked out with torre.
Thanks Steve....Torrie was amazing...he almost seemed to be part of that laptop he carried with him...heck, he might have been an android..:erm:
Congrats Larry! How is the drivablility of the truck? It's got to be a blast to drive....especially with those Posi-Quiets slowing her down!! hehe
LOL...at least they never squeek.........drivability is great...Torre probably spent 70% of the time dialing that in...this was not just a WOT tune..he covered everything from idle, driving in traffic, cruising on an interstate to blasting down the 1320 at a local track...:dancinlock:
Lets put it this way...my next mod wont be for making more power...:no:....got to start a fund for DRs.. Been a long road Eric...I should never start a project right before tax season..:thanks:
Way cool Larry. I am truely happy and excited for you. It has been a long time coming for that beast of a truck. Glad you are happy, and yes, Torre is awesome. As for the other comment, I am surprised that "Dookies" issues did not enter your mind when dealing with that guy!
I didnt get the connection when I was dealing with him...that explains everything...that was a $1K+ lesson...:furious::mad2:
Looks like the motor is getting to raise up on it's legs doesnt it?..LOL The better to to make that 2.7 tons of steel get off the line...also shreds the heck out of tires..:viking:
