lmao Us old guys need to help each other out from time to time Roy. The LED light COULD serve as an early warning system though.
Actually, I will probably have 3 fuel pumps. The two you see are in parallel. Plus, there is a bypass and a pump controller. Basically, a Paxton setup (Fuel management unit). Yes, I have a Wideband A/F ratio gauge which I always monitor. Like the last run at the Nats where I shut down before the engine went (in conjunction with the MSD knock sensor). The stock SRT-10 pump is a hearty pump and I did not have issues with 8.5 PSI boost. I did not have problems tuning it (VEC)....with email help from Sean of course. send me your email address and I will send the PDF instruction manual.
Yeah....I would have forgotten I owned an SRT10 by now......is this engine going to last forever?....opcorn:
Exactly a year now. lol It will make it easier for the next person doing a similar rebuild however. Now I have to send my crankcase (oil) scraper to VSP (Dan Lesser) to have it modified to fit. Since I added the ARP bolts the are obviously different than the stock bolts, so a little modifying needs to be done. Would have had the engine back in now if it wasn't for that. Something I didn't figure out until I tried to mount (yes, I said mount) the scraper and oil tube. Off to desert (again) next week for a few months. So Taliban Dan will have to do the updates on the rebuild.
Keep your head down Dave. Thanks for what you have already done and what you are so willing to do again...we sleep better because you are there, and we along with your family, worry a lot until you get home. Roy
Dave- good to hear from ya. I'm sure the Black Brick will be badass when it's back together. When you talk to VSP (Dan), ask him about their swing-arm oil pans. I'm pretty sure you won't be doing any road-racing in your ride, but....it might be a cool option to have. I said if I knew of an SRT-10 truck with the oil pan off I'd let him know. Removing/installing ours is a *little* more complicated than on the coupes. Agreed. Gonna have to +1 kabillion on that.
Hey Dave stay safe over there. It's good to see the engine is coming along, these things always take longer than what you think they will take. Kevan I have a swinging pick up oil pan for my Duster, I didn't think anyone was making them for the V10 engine yet. Bill.
I already talked to Dan about it for the truck. First, it may or may not fit, so right now, I just want my truck running again. Second, like you said, not much road racing in the truck. Third, I have an accusump which I love and is working great. Takes 12 quarts of oil for change, but all good with added security. Fourth, my kids' moma has been watching my modding lately. So she has stuck me for a new Chrysler Aspen. It's madness I tell ya! Fifth, Taliban Dan wants his driveway back (my SRT truck is at his house).
Yeah, look at VSP's webpage: https://www.viperspecialtyperforman...73_34&osCsid=d4bde76e7041a7d7bc49ac29013b4da5 As far as I know, nobody with the SRT-10 truck has tried one yet. I am sure Dan Lesser will chime in soon. :worthy:
Hi Guys, As posted by Bone, we have never tried to fit one of these in an SRT-10 Ram. Fitting the engine is obviously not the problem, but fitting the frame is. Chances are, this pan design will not fit. However, as I have told others, if someone can get me an SRT-10 Truck pan, I may be able to modify the system to work on the deep-style truck pans as well.
Oddly enough, one of our members is selling a fixable oil pan. lol http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8778
Bill/Bone.... I had a quick discussion on the VCA Forum about the swing arm for the trucks: http://forums.viperclub.org/new-pro...ys/617020-sale-srt-10-swing-arm-oil-pans.html A Viper coupe oil pan is CONSIDERABLY easier to remove/install than the ones on our trucks. (Damn...you guys are fast...heh heh)
