Back in town now. Here is a picture of the engine rebuilt. Haven't seen it in person yet. Still at Taliban Dan's house. He said he drove it around the block last week.
Oh, it's running. Just not by me yet! :crying: Unfortunately, the Larger Harmonic Balancer pulley disintegrated on installation. Luckily no damage what so ever, so stock harmonic balancer pulley plus larger boosting Roe SC is on the system now. The heads were re-ported, new dual valve springs attached and the Roe SC intake (baffle) was ported AND opened with Sean's guidance. So definitely more air is flowing. I have to run back into work to draw some blood, then I have a couple of weeks off to go rescue my truck from Dan.
Oh yeah, I put Boomer's throttle body on it now too. Dan says he can already tell the response to it.
Bone the engine looks awesome...bet you are excited.........question...is the front shaft on the Roe longer than normal?...is the front pulley bracket custom?
Exciting stuff Bone.. The motor looks great. I bet it runs even better than it looks. Glad you are home safe and sound. Thanks again.
FANTASTIC DAVE!! Well, mainly that you're back and in one piece. But the spiffy V-10 too. (Thanks for covering my ass out there. I appreciate it!) I'm psyched to see Big Black all back together again. BTW- If you talk to Gary, tell him to call me.
The front pulley bracket is custom. Added another tensioner pulley to keep from slipping. Bought the pulley parts from Dave and Sean (a long while ago). The smaller SC pulley (higher boosting) was made at Roe. The larger harmonic pulley was initially made by David Weaver, then modified by another company in Washington state. Thanks for the kind words. Looks like we are starting to focus our efforts on OEF now that we are wrapping up OIF to a stable point. So from one fight to another. I haven't heard from Boomer in a long time. I had his Throttle body for a long time sitting in the garage. I actually went down to Roe Racing to watch Sean create his throttle bodies, all while purchasing Boomer's. Felt a little funny, but I was trying to support all of the vendors as best I could. So if I got a paxton, I probably would have put a Roe throttle body on it....lol.
sweet work man!!!!!! David Weaver is the guy whos buliding my motor! top notch dude! can't wait to see some videos of this thing in action
Yeah, it's been 15 months since I drove it. Last night I re-popped my cherry. Haven't gone into boost yet however. David Weaver is a good dude. Haven't met him in person but he seems to be in the same league as Sean Roe, real sincere, super knowledgable and honest vendor. Unfortunately my larger pulley did not fit correctly that his shop made and now has come apart on installation after modifying it. Also, he recommended some larger 65lb injectors that are not fitting right now, so I am also working that issue. So I am running on my 49lb injectors right now while breaking it in. When i find a solution, I will post it. http://www.racetronix.com/S107FM.html Tough not to go full throttle throttle on it. :hypno:
WWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! You have more control than me. 15 months :crying: I am glad it is running good because it looks great!
The Brake lines look great! Now give zeckhausen a call and get some stopping power under that monster!
My methanol motor locked-up while sitting idle. Rusted the balance panels inside the motor. No worries new one in the mail.
dang....hope my meth motor hasnt rusted like that....it is mounted on the truck but I have had it turned off for months till I get finished with the intake..:erm:......kicking around just removing it...
