Yes. Definitely aimed towards launch. You're going to launch at a higher rpm. This is also why it helps the the bog when spinning though first.

You spin the tires in first and the rpms go up to the shift point. The car shifts into second but since your tires are/were spinning you're not going that fast. Torque management cuts power to allow the trans to shift (and it take a bit for the shift itself) and your tires hook up. Now you're hooked up and you're in second gear but you're not going very fast so you're way down under the torque curve in the rpm range ==> bog.

The higher stall torque converter will "slip" up to the stall rpm in this condition which gets you into or a lot closer to the better part of the power curve.

I suppose this could help on the road course if you were spinning your rear tires going around curves in power slides and it upshifted?

i just ran my best times and 60's last night!!!

you will be loving your car all over again!!!

    yes he will!!!

pretty much sums up my issues i have bitched about forever........ the rdp tc did the trick for me!!! now instead of a bog, i get a quick shift and it manages to keep going instead of bogging!!

love it!!! HIGHLY recommend this mod to srt8 owners!!!!
