Have any of you done a can only upgrade? Can you recommend a can? I know I will need a tune, so maybe I should say a can and tune upgrade.

Before the blower, I had just an HHP Stage 1 cam.

I am not sure at what point you need to work on your heads to deal with the bigger cam, but I know with the Stage 1, it was a good bang for your buck if you will.

Steve isnt their stage I a Comp 268?....not sure...I had a Comp 268 in my former 2006 SRT8 but also had PPP stage I heads...I pickup about 60HP with that combo if I remember correctly...loved the way it ran and sounded...

I would guess the Comp 268 is good for 20-25hp w/o head work?

Sounds about right. I was told about 50 BHP so after loss that sounds in the ballpark.

Wow....I was expecting more HP. The set Max claims 425-450 at the RW. I have no clue what stock is at the RWs.

You arent getting to 450 without a heads/cam package.

If there is a cam only upgrade that puts you to 450 at the rear wheels, that vendors phone will ring off the hook lol.

Stock to the wheels depends on the dyno but on a Dynojet I have seen about 375/385 stock (or with just a CAI or something).

I think at best you could see 410 to the wheels with a Cam only. Now if you have an exhaust and CAI and a good tune, you could see a decent gain with all those to maybe 425 or so?

Stock HP is roughly 360 at the rear wheels. The SRT Max HP claims are with heads too. Cam only is only worth about 30 RW HP. If you're not installing the cam yourself, save up and do the heads at the same time. Swapping out the heads too only adds 1-2 hours of labor to the cam only job and you'll gain roughly 90 RWHP (given that you already have an intake and exhaust).

The labor to put in just a cam will cover the cost of getting heads also! So if you are smart I you would do a cam and heads and to be honest at that stage you might as well do the intake! your smartest move is to go the HHP stage 2 cam, heads and intake! Anything other is not a smart move so just lay back and save your money! Any cam worth anything is going to involve springs etc. So that is head work the labor you pay to do the upgrade to the heads is covered in a head package! Do it right or you will kick yourself later because you are just redoing the labor again!

Ask 10 people you can get 12 answers.

    For vendors here....
    \
HHP has a good heads/cam setup
    Inertia offers a package
    CMW has a package
I would think Stanko offers them?

Maybe Adam or Ralph from Show and Performance could weigh in a little for you.

I have an HHP setup, Claude has an HHP setup, Ron is running a CMW motor, I think there maybe a few Inertia cars here as well.

Depends on if you want every last single HP or if Price is what your looking at or what.
