We're going to the track alnog with a buddy who has a 08 Vette and the three of us are going to play.:bigwink: I'm just trying to see how my SRT-8 will run against the Viper truck.

You should have no worries with the QC.

    Au contrairé, my friend.
    SRT-10 QC's run mid 13's bone stock.
    SRT-10 RC's run low 13's bone stock.
Simple CAI, cat delete, and cat-back will drop almost 1/2 a second from either.

    The record, IIRC, is 12.6 in a RC....by a guy named Trainman who's a power-shifting monster.

I ran 13.8 with long tube and highflow cats and catback Regular cab.No slicks.

All srt8s will eat our regular and quad cabs.Put slicks on,will help a lot.Have some fun racing that big ass truck down the track, also let us know how you do.My jeepsrt8 runs 12.48.

I'll have to look, but I think my best was 13.1 or 13.2 with CAI and catback. No slicks, so I spun going 1-2 and 2-3.

Even if you level the power/weight field and gave equal traction, the SRT-8's still have a distinct advantage: AERODYNAMICS.
With 32 sq.ft. of frontal area, pushing the trucks is the same as pushing a 4x8 sheet of plywood.

A 2WD 5.7L Regular Cab'll run mid 14's stock consistently (as did mine)

Thanks for the info guys. I'll keep you posted how it turns out. I would love to beat my friends c-6 Vette because he's been talkin smack. Maybe he'll blow the launch or miss a gear!!!

    Not the RC.

I have ran the wifes RC up here (DA = 7000') and I put down a 14.1 (with my DA being so high, take off a full second for correction factor). I also missed 3 gear. haha

The RC versus an SRT8 will be a drivers race if stock for stock.

In that case I'm glad my buddy has the ext. cab. I'm not stock but pretty close. Corsa, highflow cats, Airhammer, and a CMR tune from Injected.

Yea, me and Maureen have raced four times back when my car was CAI and Zoomers only.

I am 2W and 2L. Maureen can drive like no other. And she has NEVER missed a gear.

I have seen many a timeslip showing low 13s for stock RCs..and a few high 12s as Kevan mentioned....the truck is hard to launch so many people see the RC 10s run 14s & 15s at the track.....this gives a false impression that the SRT10 is slower than an SRT8....a race between the 2 is a drivers race.........the QCs are about .5 seconds slower due to weight but somewhat easier to launch and more consistant being an auto...

OK..... here's the skinny. My buddies SRT-10 EC ran a 13.5. My best was a 12.86. His 60' times were better than mine. That big heavy ass truck was a handfull for me to reel in!! We had a blast even though the Vette didn't make it.

13.5 is about as fast as a stock QC will run under the best conditions with a good driver.....most need a flash to see mid 13s. ............and yeah, heavy, that is why we need the low end torque monster under the hood.

What's a good mod starting point for him? I'M sure CAI and T-stat. He got heat soaked pretty quick. Hows the exhaust in his truck and does Diablo have a Preditor for V-10s?
    Thanks for the advise.

He needs to buy the SCT tuner from Stinker. It is not really a tuner like the preditor but it will store 3 different tunes plus the stock tune. He can get tunes from any SCT/Viper tuner by email. Stinker can handle the tunes also.

Removing the cats will get him about 20-30HP......and a good tune to that and he will gain about 75HP..a 172 stat would help too.........a CAI is a waste of money....just do a drop in K&N filter in the stock box and it will get all the air it needs.

Ok...I will run any srt8. I just don't believe that a decent driver in an 8 stock can take me...I'm all stock/rc 04. I live in north east, North Carolina, beside northeast dragway, in hertford. Come on out and see me. It's only an 1/8 here, but its good racing.
There are quite a few more tracks around here also. I will drive to meet you also...
