Chrysler on National Back Order on Tension Rods & Control Arms for Bushing Failures I have had a lot of municipalities and shops that do work for them call me the last 2 weeks. Apparantly, Chrysler has a national back order on the tension rods (radius rod) and the control arms, due to a significant failure of the bushings. I have been told by multiple guys that the earliest ETA is late January 2010. The complaints that all of them are describing are loud noises, shimmies and shakes, and stability concerns. Now they are all police intercept vehicles. As far as I can tell by looking at 100s of these parts, there may only be 2 styles: one for SRT8 upgraded and not. the difference is the amount of voids in the bushings are different. thats sucks thats these parts are on national back order.took 2 months to get a front fascia for an SRT8 MAGNUM.
What part numbers are you talking about? I just ordered OEM struts and they're in stock at the depot and will be in tomorrow.
I have had several more inquiries and sales from a bunch of other police service facilities. ALL of them are telling me the EXACT same thing: the tension rod bushings are failing, and not lasting longer than 15k on the police packages. I do not have access to Chrysler p/ns. But I can tell you we are not in the 30-35 plus sales of our Critical Bushing Kits to Police departments accross this great nation. mike dms
