We had a great tour of Kooks Custom Headers facility here on Long Island today. George Sr, Jr and III were absolutely fantastic to us. They showed us their awesome facitly, operation, projects and treated us like we were VIP's. The tour was supposed to run from 4pm to 530pm (after hours), we got out of there at 7pm. We couldnt get enough and hanging out with these gear heads was a treat. I took a few pictures and I hope that the others that were there will post their pictures here as well.
Josh and HHP know alot about the two tone 300 SRT you see in the pictures. It has the BES/HHP 426 in it and is an absolute beast. We were lucky enough to have George Sr. show us how some of the equipment worked and George III gave us a complete run down of how everything was made. When I set this up, I knew it would be neat, but I had no idea how much I would be impressed with the people that own/operate Kooks. First class people and I cant wait to see them again in June at ATCO. Thank you KOOKS.
awesome pics!!! i love when vendors open the doors to people and let customers check out how things are done!!!
Man what an evening you guys must have had. Yea, I met the Kooks at SEMA 06. very nice people with a passion for fast cars... Thanks for sharing.
I had a great time today, the tour was way more then i expected and all the guys from Kooks were really cool. I took a bunch of pictures too Here are the Kook's LXs 'papa' kook in his stroker 300 the strokers engine bay Lining everyone up for the group photos FlybyU's NO2 setup George and Tripleblack getting a birds eye view for the photos Sr. Operating the Forklift After the tour and group photo we convoyed over to Hooters for some beer and wings (and breasts)
I had a great time at KOOKS eventhough I showed up late ( coming from work). We saw things in their that they don't even advertise. They make all sorts of custom piping for turbo's to full catback exhaust with their own mufflers. Bet you didn't know kooks made mufflers! 95% of all their parts are made in that facility. But of course their bread and butter, HEADERS. They showed us from beginning to end of the building process. I can say the $1300-1600 spent on a set is well worth it. The material and perfectly HAND welded seams are 2nd to none. You heard that right, EVERYTHING is HAND WELDED! This is a knock out place guys. Something everyone who is a car guy should see live. Thanks Dan for putting this together and to the KOOKS family for being top notch hosts. Oh, for the new guys that were their I was in the black charger srt8 ( my girlfriend's)...
