Thanks, Jason!! Lol don't know yet. Probably a very small party Thanks, Ron!! Haha yes I'm very excited and it was absolutely awesome to be in the room with all the people celebrating their citizenship. The lady next to me said it was a lifelong dream of hers. Really cool.
Dummy ME, a while ago I had forgotten my password and couldn't get on here to see this WONDERFUL THREAD! I'm sure glad it was bumped back up to offer my CONGRATULATIONS to Jason. From the sounds of things even BEFORE your citizenship ~ YOU ALREADY WERE A PROUD AMERICAN!!! This is FANTASTIC NEWS My BROTHER!!!
That is awesome J! How long did the process literately take, meaning from when you first filled your paper work until the day you walked out as an American Citizen?
Well the paperwork for naturalization was filed on May 3rd and I was a citizen on September 20th so a little more than four months for that part. The entire process from immigrant to citizen is far longer - I could have shortened it by a few years if I had filed immediately after being eligible to.
You become eligible after being a permanent resident for three years and you get that after going through the initial process in various ways - through work, schooling or in my case marriage
