Viper engine from the inside out....

    Building the lower end of my engine...Mahle Pistons with Eagle connecting rods....capable of handling 1,500 HP..:guns:

    Ported and polished heads by Roe Racing...also added 2.02 intake valves (1.96 stock)...1.60 exhaust (1.56 stock)...

    The owners of this machine shop are building this engine to run in a Grand Am race car..(see picture below this picture)...this is a Chevy 302 block with very modified buick heads...dynoed 700HP at the crank and they aint done..:hypno:

    $50,000 cylinder boring/honing machine...all computer and lazer driven...1 of only 2 in TN....

    let me know when you are done cause I need to do the same... and well if we did it at the same time, that is well homo.... not that there is anything wrong with that.... but I just do not trust a man that ENJOYS putting things in there...

    Not the machine work...including turning the crank down by .020 to handle the chevy rods....J&J Racing built the lower end then my dealer put the rest together....

    wow larry, how cool!!! ow far along is the project now???? can't wait to see the results!! why the build anyway??? just because you want more, or did something happen to prompt it? just curious......

    I was going to just install ported heads....then I thought heck, I'm halfway into the engine...and there is this little pulley for $150 that would push my tank over 700RWHP...and 6 weeks later Im still working on it...just lack the pulley and tuning now so a thread will be here soon..:thumb:

    Fortunely they were behind a shatter proof plastic window....pieces went everywhere...if someone had been in that room the probably would have been killed...:unsure:

    Just insurance...:bigwink:

    Ya have to remember that while 700 RWHP is extreme it takes about 100 more horses to move my tank down the 1320 as fast as an SRT8....I will just maybe be able to give Ron a good run....if he stays off the bottle..:bigwink:...............................BTW...my next mod is to do a SRT10 version of your underhood....best looking engine compartment out there IMO...:eek:k:
